Change or withdraw a provisional request
Contact info@247emergencyplumberedinburgh.co.uk or 0131 210 0505 and quote your reference, address and requested date. A website or WhatsApp request is provisional until the plumber confirms. Withdrawing a request before any contract or charge has been agreed does not itself create a cancellation charge.
Consumer cooling-off rights
If you are a consumer and enter a qualifying service contract at a distance or away from our business premises, you generally have 14 days after the day the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason. The rules depend on the contract and any statutory exception. A booking email labelled provisional is not itself confirmation that a service contract has been concluded. We will give the applicable information before agreement and in a form you can keep.
Starting work within those 14 days
If you want non-emergency work to start during the cancellation period, we will obtain your express request and explain the effect on your rights before starting. Where required for an off-premises contract, that request must be on a durable medium. If you cancel after a valid early-start request, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service properly supplied up to cancellation, where the legal conditions are met. The cancellation right is lost after full performance only where the required consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. The website’s privacy acknowledgement is not an early-start request or a waiver of cancellation rights.
Urgent repairs you specifically request
A limited exception applies where you specifically request a visit for urgent repairs or maintenance. It covers those requested urgent services and replacement parts necessarily used for them. It does not automatically cover unrelated extra services or goods; normal cancellation rights can still apply to those additions. Describing every plumbing enquiry as an emergency does not remove consumer rights.
Other changes and fair charges
For work outside a statutory cancellation right, any cancellation or missed-visit charge must have been clearly explained, agreed and be lawful and proportionate. We do not publish or impose an automatic blanket cancellation penalty through this form. Tell us as soon as you need to change a visit so we can discuss the actual circumstances.
Refunds and work that is not right
Where a refund is due following statutory cancellation of a service contract, we refund within the applicable legal deadline, normally within 14 days of being informed of the cancellation. We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise and do not charge a refund fee. Any lawful deduction for properly requested work already supplied will be explained. Separate statutory remedies apply if goods or services are faulty; cancellation terms do not remove those rights. Contact us so we can investigate and agree the appropriate remedy.
Optional cancellation wording
You can cancel by an unambiguous email, letter or other valid notice; you do not have to use this template. For an urgent scheduling change, telephone as well.
