KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT

Clear scope. A useful next step.

Survey first, then a written quote

We look at your home, hot water use, gas supply, flue route and condensate drainage before recommending a boiler. You get a written quote covering the boiler, labour, parts and any extra work before you agree to anything. We do not publish a fixed installation price because every home is different.

Choosing the right type

A combi heats water on demand and suits most flats and smaller homes. A system boiler with a cylinder can suit homes with more than one bathroom used at once. We explain the trade-offs for your home rather than fitting the biggest boiler.

Registration, warranty and paperwork

Gas boiler installations must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer and notified to Gas Safe Register. Ask us about the manufacturer warranty for the boiler you choose and what servicing it needs to stay valid.

For a planned visit, request an appointment online. The plumber confirms attendance and the work and price are agreed before work starts. For emergencies or out-of-hours work, call 0131 210 0505.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Helpful answers before you call.

How much does a new boiler cost?

It depends on the boiler type, where it goes and how much pipework, flue and condensate work is needed. We survey first and give you a written quote. Our boiler replacement cost guide explains the main factors.

How long does a boiler installation take?

A straight swap is often done in a day. Changing the boiler type or moving it usually takes longer. We will give you the expected time with your quote.

Can I book boiler installation in my Edinburgh postcode?

Call with your full postcode and the details of the fault. We’ll confirm coverage, current availability and the appropriate next step.

What information is useful for boiler installation?

Your current boiler type and roughly how old it is How many bathrooms and showers the home has Whether you have a hot water cylinder or tanks in the loft Where you would like the new boiler to go.

How much will the work cost?

Standard-hours callout starts from £75 for attendance and diagnosis only. Callout charges cover attendance and diagnosis only and are separate from repair labour. The service prices shown are labour charges only. Parts and materials are charged separately. No VAT is charged. Standard hours are 7am–7pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. Evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays are out of hours. All times are Edinburgh local time. Agree all charges before committing to a visit and any repair work before it begins.

How quickly can a plumber get to me?

Our average response to emergency callouts is under 60 minutes. It is an average, not a guarantee: arrival depends on your location, traffic and other callouts, and outlying towns take longer. When you call, we give you an arrival estimate for your address.

What should I do if water is escaping?

If safe, turn off the relevant isolation valve or main stopcock. Keep clear of wet electrical fittings and do not attempt repairs on gas or electrical equipment. Call for professional advice.

DAYTIME BOOKING REQUESTS · 7AM–7PM
