Who you are dealing with
247 Emergency Plumbers Edinburgh is the trading name of AJ HEATING PLUMBING AND HOME SERVICES LTD, a private limited company registered in Scotland, company number SC741593. Registered office: 94 Gracemount Drive, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, EH16 6QZ. Contact: info@247emergencyplumberedinburgh.co.uk or 0131 210 0505.
We are not VAT-registered and do not charge VAT. This is a service-area business; the registered office is provided for company correspondence and is not advertised as a walk-in customer shop.
Requests, verification and confirmation
A website submission, email code, calendar attachment or WhatsApp message is a request to arrange a visit. It is provisional until the plumber confirms attendance. We will contact you, or you can call 0131 210 0505 and quote your reference. Verification confirms control of an email address; it does not confirm the appointment, diagnose the fault or agree a price.
Before a service contract is concluded, we must agree the proposed attendance and scope, the price or how it will be calculated, any initial assessment or callout charge, payment arrangements and the cancellation information that applies. Ask for these details in a form you can keep. An acknowledgement is not an instruction to start work and does not authorise extra work.
Hours and urgent work
Emergency enquiries are taken by telephone 24 hours a day, subject to availability. WhatsApp requests are for visits between 7am and 7pm, Edinburgh local time. Online slots are two-hour planned weekday visits (Monday to Friday); available daytime times are displayed on the calendar. On the same day, at most one slot is offered, at least three hours ahead, and you should call 0131 210 0505 to confirm it. For an emergency, an overnight job or a visit extending past 7pm, call directly. Sending a message does not guarantee an emergency response or a particular arrival time.
Scope, estimates and prices
The work and price must be discussed and agreed before work starts. Where the full fault is not yet known, we explain any charge for the initial visit or investigation before you agree to it. An estimate may change if the agreed assumptions change; any additional work, materials or cost needs your agreement before we proceed. We are not VAT-registered and do not charge VAT.
Before agreement, ask about labour rates, minimum charges, parts, parking, specialist equipment, out-of-hours charges, waste removal and making good where relevant. We will state the agreed total or calculation method and any conditions. The website takes no online payment or card details. Any deposit, payment method and due date must be explained and agreed separately; the form itself does not create a payment obligation.
Access, permissions and safety
Provide an accurate address, access arrangements and a contact with authority to approve the work. Tell us about known hazards, building-management restrictions, shared supplies and access needs. Where opening walls, lifting coverings or other intrusive investigation is proposed, discuss permission, scope and making good first. We may need to stop and agree a revised plan if conditions are unsafe or a different specialist is required.
Gas-appliance work must be done by an appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineer. Other regulated work also needs suitable competence and registration. Check who will attend and the registration relevant to the task. Our gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers.
Timing, changes and cancellation
Attendance depends on location, job requirements, workload and access. We will discuss delays or a change of appointment with you. To amend or cancel a request, use info@247emergencyplumberedinburgh.co.uk or 0131 210 0505 and quote the reference. See cancellations and refunds for consumer cooling-off rights, early-start requests and the limited urgent-repair exception.
Workmanship, goods and statutory rights
Services must be performed with reasonable care and skill. Goods supplied must meet the legal standards that apply. If something is wrong, contact us promptly so it can be investigated; the available remedies may include repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction. Any separately offered manufacturer or commercial guarantee is additional to your statutory rights and must be explained with its conditions. We do not invent a blanket warranty period on this website.
Nothing in these terms removes or restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Our statement that the business is fully insured does not replace your rights or promise that every event is covered by an insurer.
Complaints and applicable law
Use our complaints process if you are dissatisfied. Scots law applies to these service terms, subject to mandatory consumer protections and your right to bring proceedings in any court available to you under applicable law.
Website information
Our guides are general information, not a diagnosis of your property. Local pages describe service enquiries, not separate staffed branches. Clearly labelled illustrative imagery does not document a completed job. See our reviews and content policy for sourcing and corrections.
