Where to look
In older stone homes near the harbour, pipes may run through cold external walls or under suspended timber floors. In newer estates such as Hallhill, condensate pipes and outside taps are the weak points.
Lag anything exposed to the wind, and fit covers to outside taps.
Allowing for distance
Dunbar is about 30 miles from Edinburgh, further than most of our area. If a pipe bursts, turn off the stopcock and drain the system while you wait. We will give you an honest arrival time when you call.
